Privacy policy · Updated September 13, 2026
StopClock has no account, advertising, analytics SDK, or developer-operated location server.
What stays on your iPhone
Your active journey, alarm identifiers and recent destinations are stored in the app’s local storage. StopClock processes GPS fixes on your device to determine progress along your selected route and proximity to your destination. This information is not sent to a StopClock server.
Location permission
Foreground location helps find nearby places and a possible boarding station. Background location is used only during an active destination trip. You can end a trip to stop background tracking, or change location permission in iPhone Settings at any time. Without permission or a usable GPS fix, geographic arrival detection will not work; a scheduled timed backup is separate.
Apple services
Maps, place searches and walking directions use Apple Maps. Search text, relevant coordinates and map requests are handled by Apple under its own privacy practices. AlarmKit manages system alarms, and ActivityKit displays trip information on your Lock Screen and Dynamic Island. That information may be visible to someone looking at your phone.

Retention and deletion
Recent destinations and the current trip remain locally until changed or removed with the app. End an active trip before deleting StopClock to cancel its alarms. You can delete the app and its data from iPhone Settings. Device backups, if enabled, are controlled by your Apple settings.
TestFlight and voluntary feedback
During beta testing, Apple may provide the developer with crash reports, test information and feedback you choose to submit through TestFlight. Do not include personal travel history or other sensitive details unless they are necessary to explain an issue. Apple’s TestFlight privacy terms apply to that service.

Questions and changes
During the beta, send privacy questions through TestFlight → StopClock → Send Beta Feedback. This policy will be updated here if the app’s privacy practices change.
